Jim Durrance
For Jim, Training dogs is not just an occupation, it is a passion. With almost 20 years experience, Jim has worked with hundreds of dogs and most of the 150 plus AKC recognized breeds as well as many, many mixed breeds. He has trained dogs to be well behaved pets, competition obedience dogs, guide dogs for the blind, assistance dogs, draft dogs, and has trained dogs that have won trick competitions.
Jim was one of the founders of Anderson Dog Works in Anderson. He was a Trainer at Southeastern Guide Dog School and Director and Head Trainer at Ivy Creek Guide Dog School. He is a Draft Judge for the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America and has traveled to many states to judge draft tests and to conduct draft and obedience workshops.
He and his wife, Jenny (also a Draft Judge), raise and train Bernese Mountain Dogs and compete with them in draft, obedience, and conformation. They are also active members of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America, the Chattahoochee Valley Bernese Mountain Dog Club, the Clemson Kennel Club, and the Dog Obedience Club of Greenville.
